A walk in Puerto Escondido – February 2023
Puerto Escondido has a way of slowing time—and that’s exactly what I tried to capture through my lens. Armed with a Canon 6D and a Canon EF 35mm f/2, I focused on keeping things simple, letting the light and the rhythm of the coast do the heavy lifting. The 35mm perspective felt just right: wide enough to embrace the sweeping beaches and golden sunsets, yet intimate enough to tell quiet stories.
What stood out most was the light. Soft mornings with a gentle haze, followed by dramatic golden hours that seemed to stretch forever. The 6D handled it beautifully, especially in low light, preserving details without losing that natural feel. I kept my approach minimal—no overthinking, no staging—just observing and reacting.
These photos aren’t just about a destination; they’re about a mood. Puerto Escondido is raw, warm, and effortlessly photogenic. And sometimes, all you need is a simple setup and a good eye to let a place speak for itself.
